Somebody in the Round 6 slot was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Vikings sat still while J.C. Davis, the No. 140 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
Every board in the league had Lee III lower, and that gap is the story. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.
With quarterback, edge rusher and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on cornerback is the choice that costs them. Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 3 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
