Somebody in No. 241 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Dolphins sat still while Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint, the No. 195 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. They are betting Bortolini proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 30 they get a bendy edge with upside, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Christian Haynes in the 58th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It fills a real need, too.
A tidy little value on Kingsley Suamataia in slot 62, a step better than break-even. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Value said wait; Trevor Keegan in the 126th pick says they were not listening. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Tanor Bortolini at pick No. 158 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Javion Cohen at Round 5, Pick 33 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
No edge and no loss on Johnny Dixon in the Round 6 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Evan Williams in No. 198 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A minor itch, scratched.
They barely believed it either: Tahj Washington still on the board at the 219th overall pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They robbed the room for Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
