Nobody else had Andrew Raym anywhere near the 184th pick. The Dolphins did, by 55 spots, and that gap is the whole story. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
Tracy Jr. at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 2 of 8 of the wish list covered.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
They read the board right and Graham Barton was the payoff at the Round 2 slot. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A big swing on Christian Mahogany at No. 55, well ahead of any board in the building. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They jumped the gun on Jaden Hicks, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A minor need, but a need all the same.
They liked Javion Cohen enough to skip the value, taking him in the 158th overall pick. The roster fit checks out.
They reached a country mile for Andrew Raym at pick 184, and the board is aghast. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Tyrone Tracy Jr. at Round 6, Pick 23 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
LaDarius Henderson in pick No. 241 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It fills a real need, too.
