The one they had to fix is still broken. The Chiefs left quarterback untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
They will need Sweat to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The Greenfield pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 32 they get a disruptive interior force, even if it was a touch early. A clean fit for the roster.
Kiran Amegadjie in No. 64 is fair value, right on his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Isaac Guerendo in Round 3, Pick 32 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They paid sticker price for Ben Sinnott in slot 134, and that is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They paid up for Kamal Hadden at the 158th pick when waiting would have done the job. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
By-the-book stuff, Jha'Quan Jackson at the 172nd overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Garret Greenfield in the Round 7 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
The board had cheaper options than De'Corian Clark at pick 252, and it noticed. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
