Call it larceny. Billy Bowman Jr. sat on the board until pick No. 161, and the Vikings did not need to be asked twice. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Safety is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a disruptive interior force. A clean fit for the roster.
They robbed the room for Maxwell Hairston here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Taking Cam Skattebo in Round 5, Pick 1 is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. A need, and now a little less of one.
They barely believed it either: Billy Bowman Jr. still on the board at slot 161. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
