Whoever sat across the table from the Commanders should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped tight end, which is a strange place to end up. The Slaughter value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
The Drue Tranquill deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.
Few war rooms will sleep better than this one tonight.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 9 they get a featured back at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
A slide stopped in pick No. 71, with Jake Slaughter worth more than the price. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A clean, defensible pick in slot 147 with a little surplus value in CJ Daniels. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Taylen Green at No. 187 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
Jadon Canady at pick 209 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Lander Barton in the Round 7 slot is fair value, right on his grade. A minor itch, scratched.
