The Keaten Wade pick is the one that will follow the Eagles into the fall. They took him 80 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
Thieneman falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Trading back for volume was the quiet throughline of their weekend.
A fair-value weekend of trading, no edge to be found.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 23rd overall pick they get a lockdown presence outside. The biggest hole, addressed.
Dillon Thieneman in pick No. 57 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It fills a real need, too.
Eli Stowers in the 68th pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They read the board right and Nicholas Singleton was the payoff at No. 98. A need, and now a little less of one.
Bryce Lance slipping to the Round 4 slot is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A straight-up fair deal on Keylan Rutledge at Round 4, Pick 23, value and slot in agreement. The roster fit checks out.
A premium they did not need to pay, Max Iheanachor a notch or two before his time. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Drew Allar at the 137th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They reached a country mile for Eric O'Neill at slot 151, and the board is aghast. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Keaten Wade at the 201st overall pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Nolan Rucci at pick No. 202 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
No edge and no loss on J. Michael Sturdivant in the Round 6 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
By-the-book stuff, Dijon Johnson at No. 221 squarely in line with his ranking. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A conviction pick on Jordan Hall at Round 7, Pick 23 that the board grades a round light. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
