When a board-topper like Jordan Travis slides to the 172nd pick, you do not overthink it, and the Eagles did not. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 8 of 9 of the wish list covered.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a sticky cover corner at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They read the board right and Kamren Kinchens was the payoff at Round 2, Pick 18. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Xavier Legette at pick No. 54 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
You do not let a running back like Blake Corum reach pick 97 and blink. They did not. A need, and now a little less of one.
By-the-book stuff, Cedric Gray at slot 137 squarely in line with his ranking. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
They will replay Ben Sinnott at No. 164 for years; that is how good the value is. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Jordan Travis in the 172nd overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They let Grayson Murphy come to them and pounced at the 178th pick. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
The board had Trevor Keegan higher than pick 243, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
