Thirty-one other rooms let Fabien Lovett slide, and the Packers were the ones holding the card at the 255th pick. Highway robbery. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
The Sinnott pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.
A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th overall pick they get a building block for the line. A real need, handled.
They paid sticker price for Junior Colson in pick 54, and that is fine. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
T.J. Tampa at Round 2, Pick 26 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They paid up for Christian Mahogany at slot 85 when waiting would have done the job. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
The board had cheaper options than Cole Bishop at pick No. 88, and it noticed. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Ben Sinnott in the 91st pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Taking MarShawn Lloyd in No. 126 is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Walter Rouse in the Round 5 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It fills a real need, too.
They reached into another round for Jordan Magee, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Evan Williams at pick 219 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Jalen Sundell in the 245th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Somehow Fabien Lovett was still sitting there in pick No. 255, and they pounced on premier interior defensive lineman value. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
