Miami Dolphins

A respectable, level-headed haul for the Dolphins: B-.

Nobody else had Keaton Bills anywhere near the Round 6 slot. The Dolphins did, by 42 spots, and that gap is the whole story.

The Williams pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.21 · Pick 21 · Jared Verse · DE-EDGE · rank 11
In the 21st overall pick they get juice off the edge, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
R2.23 · Pick 55 · Kingsley Suamataia · OT · rank 59
Kingsley Suamataia in the 55th pick is fair value, right on his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R5.22 · Pick 158 · Layden Robinson · OG · rank 176
Layden Robinson at No. 158 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The roster fit checks out.
R6.9 · Pick 184 · Drake Nugent · C · rank 210
They talked themselves into Drake Nugent at slot 184, and the board did not agree. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R6.23 · Pick 198 · Keaton Bills · OG · rank 240
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Keaton Bills well ahead of where he belonged. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R7.21 · Pick 241 · Evan Williams · S · rank 214
A safety of that caliber at pick 241 is the definition of value, full stop. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
