You build a draft on nights like this. Jalen Green had no business being available in the 246th pick, and the Packers did the only sane thing and turned in the card.
The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
They trusted the board more than the depth chart.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 25 they get a building block for the line at fair value. A real need, handled.
They took Kalen King at par in the Round 2 slot, which is nothing to complain about. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Kris Jenkins at Round 2, Pick 25 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Mike Sainristil in pick No. 88. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Cooper Beebe at the 91st pick is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Cole Bishop. A minor need, but a need all the same.
No drama and no debate, Cedric Gray went about where he belonged in the 135th overall pick. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Rasheen Ali in slot 203 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They let Jordan Magee come to them and pounced at slot 217. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
You do not let a running back like Michael Wiley reach pick No. 219 and blink. They did not. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Jalen Green in the Round 7 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
