The Commanders did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and KeAndre Lambert-Smith fell into the Round 7 slot. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
The cost of the Ezeiruaku reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 29th overall pick they get a double-digit-sack hope, a steep price for the projection. A clean fit for the roster.
They let Trey Amos come to them and pounced at slot 61. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They talked themselves into Hollin Pierce at Round 3, Pick 15, and the board did not agree. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Savion Williams in pick No. 148 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Nothing to complain about; Jack Kiser went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Woody Marks in the Round 7 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They robbed the room for KeAndre Lambert-Smith here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
