The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Ephesians Prysock, Round 6, Pick 28, roughly 19 picks past where he belonged.
Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 7 they get a workhorse for the backfield. A real need, handled.
They read the board right and Jake Slaughter was the payoff at the Round 3 slot. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Good price on CJ Daniels in pick No. 147, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Ephesians Prysock at slot 209 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A clean, defensible pick in the 223rd overall pick with a little surplus value in Thaddeus Dixon. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
