The Dolphins spent real capital to be 65 picks early on C.J. Hanson, and the board is going to hold them to it. Some smart calls, some head-scratchers, and a C+ in the wash.
Landing Wilson that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Hit on Zach Frazier and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.
Pick-by-Pick
They reached a country mile for Zach Frazier at the 21st overall pick, and the board is aghast. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Jordan Morgan at pick 55 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The roster fit checks out.
A wide receiver of that caliber at the Round 5 slot is the definition of value, full stop. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Keaton Bills in the 184th pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
C.J. Hanson at Round 6, Pick 23 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Dominique Hampton at slot 241 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A minor itch, scratched.
