When a board-topper like De'Corian Clark slides to the 242nd overall pick, you do not overthink it, and the Dolphins did not.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 23rd pick they get a building block for the line at fair value.
Nothing to complain about; Graham Barton went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A conviction pick on Zak Zinter at the 85th overall pick that the board grades a round light. It fills a real need, too.
Circle this one: Tykee Smith at Round 5, Pick 1 is a fall that decides a draft. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Jarrian Jones in pick No. 158 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
They paid a round early for Jaylan Ford in No. 164, more than the board wanted. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Layden Robinson at the Round 6 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The roster fit checks out.
They will replay Curtis Jacobs at pick 199 for years; that is how good the value is. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
