Hard to follow the map here. The Packers bypassed edge rusher, quarterback and other spots to take Cole Bishop at the 135th overall pick, a spot they had covered.
However the rest shakes out, Tampa at that price is a win they earned. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a home-run threat at receiver. A real need, handled.
A tidy little value on Kamren Kinchens in Round 2, Pick 9, a step better than break-even. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, T.J. Tampa at the Round 2 slot. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Value with a capital V on Trey Benson in slot 88, a genuine coup. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They paid sticker price for Zak Zinter in the 91st overall pick, and that is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Tommy Eichenberg. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
