They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jayden Daniels is the Patriots' quarterback, full stop. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
However the rest shakes out, Alexander at that price is a win they earned. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Thomas Jr. reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 4th overall pick they get a passer to set the clock by. A real need, handled.
Brian Thomas Jr. in slot 36 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A slide stopped in No. 67, with Kingsley Suamataia worth more than the price. The roster fit checks out.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Dominick Puni at pick 103. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A clean, defensible pick in pick No. 140 with a little surplus value in Cade Stover. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Zy Alexander at Round 6, Pick 6 is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. It adds depth where they could use a little.
They let De'Corian Clark come to them and pounced at the 224th pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Fair-plus on Nelson Ceaser, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
