Some picks age like wine; Diego Pavia at Round 7, Pick 2 will need to, sitting 35 spots clear of his grade. No fireworks, but a solid B.
A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want. Coleman Jr. falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 18 they get a green-dot type in the middle, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
In the 20th overall pick they get a coverage-and-run second-level piece, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A slide stopped in Round 2, Pick 17, with Emmanuel McNeil-Warren worth more than the price. It adds depth where they could use a little.
The board had cheaper options than Darrell Jackson Jr. at pick 92, and it noticed. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They let Malik Muhammad come to them and pounced at the 112th pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Skyler Gill-Howard in pick No. 152 is fair value, right on his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Kevin Coleman Jr. in slot 177 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Ar'maj Reed-Adams in the Round 5 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Keagen Trost slid further than he should have, and pick 196 is lovely value for the offensive lineman. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Diego Pavia in the 218th overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
