The Dolphins looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Layden Robinson at pick No. 106 regardless, 69 picks early. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Zach Frazier. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
By-the-book stuff, Kingsley Suamataia at the 55th pick squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They will replay Roman Wilson at the 68th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A straight-up fair deal on Cole Bishop at No. 103, value and slot in agreement. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Layden Robinson at Round 4, Pick 6 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The roster fit checks out.
They robbed the room for Sataoa Laumea here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Nice patience on Justin Eboigbe, who had no business lasting to pick 158. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A tidy bit of business in the Round 6 slot, where Kamal Hadden graded well above the range. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Jordan Travis slipping to the 184th overall pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Julian Pearl at pick No. 198 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
