They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jayden Daniels is the Commanders' quarterback, full stop.
The Kamara reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through wide receiver. They banked enough surplus on Simpson to cover a lot of smaller sins.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with tight end chief among the fixes.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 2 they get a franchise quarterback. A clean fit for the roster.
Javon Bullard in pick No. 36 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A minor need, but a need all the same.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Kingsley Suamataia this early at the 40th overall pick. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Kiran Amegadjie in No. 67 is fair value, right on his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Jonah Elliss at the 78th pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Mohamed Kamara at the Round 3 slot is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
The board had Ben Sinnott higher than Round 5, Pick 3, and the tight end fell to them anyway. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Jaylin Simpson at slot 152. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A reach on Edefuan Ulofoshio in the 222nd overall pick; the board had better options right there. A minor itch, scratched.
