Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Lawson. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 31 they get a rangy last line of defense, outstanding value to boot. More want than need.
They took Jalen Royals at par in the 66th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Cam Skattebo at the Round 3 slot is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Steal is underselling it; Deontae Lawson at No. 123 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
