You build a draft on nights like this. Princely Umanmielen had no business being available in the Round 5 slot, and the Cardinals did the only sane thing and turned in the card. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 18 they get a problem off the edge, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A wide receiver of that caliber at the Round 2 slot is the definition of value, full stop. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Tyler Booker in Round 3, Pick 16 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Nick Emmanwori in the 119th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A minor itch, scratched.
Taking Princely Umanmielen in slot 154 is close to grand larceny; an edge rusher that good had no business lasting this long. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
