When a board-topper like Omarion Hampton slides to pick 154, you do not overthink it, and the Cardinals did not. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 18 they get a No. 1 receiver, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A edge rusher of that caliber at the Round 2 slot is the definition of value, full stop. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
You do not let a wide receiver like Luther Burden III reach Round 3, Pick 16 and blink. They did not. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Circle this one: Clay Webb at pick No. 119 is a fall that decides a draft. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They barely believed it either: Omarion Hampton still on the board at No. 154. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
