The Dolphins spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Luke Lachey, the No. 195 name on the board, in No. 252. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
The Crenshaw-Dickson reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The roster is better shaped than it was, with interior defensive lineman chief among the fixes.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 13th pick they get a potential shutdown corner at fair value. Need was not the driver here.
Somehow Tyler Warren was still sitting there in No. 48, and they pounced on premier tight end value. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A slide stopped in the 98th overall pick, with Chris Paul Jr. worth more than the price. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Nice patience on Cam Skattebo, who had no business lasting to pick No. 114. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Joshua Farmer is a better player than Round 4, Pick 32 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Jackson Slater at the Round 5 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Jaylen Reed. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson in pick 224 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
