The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Domonique Orange, the 95th pick, roughly 22 picks past where he belonged.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through running back. The cost of the Daniels reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.
They trusted the board more than the depth chart.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.
Pick-by-Pick
Dillon Thieneman in Round 1, Pick 31 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Chase Bisontis at the Round 2 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They barely believed it either: Domonique Orange still on the board at pick 95. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
CJ Daniels in slot 127 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Julian Neal is a better player than the 133rd overall pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Joe Royer at pick No. 138 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The roster fit checks out.
They liked Isaiah World enough to skip the value, taking him in No. 139. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
