Boards are made to be trusted, and the Cardinals shredded theirs for Vernon Broughton. He came off 79 spots early, and the room will hear about it. The bottom line is a respectable B.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is McCord. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 16th pick they get a long-term starter on the line. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Matthew Golden at No. 47 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Vernon Broughton at the 78th overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Carson Schwesinger in pick No. 114 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Kyle McCord in pick 153 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
