The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Cowboys watched T.J. Tampa slide 41 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.
Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 24 they get a long-term starter on the line. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
T'Vondre Sweat at pick 58 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They robbed the room for T.J. Tampa here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Malachi Corley in the 90th overall pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Junior Colson at slot 124 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Malik Mustapha in the Round 5 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
No drama and no debate, Isaiah Davis went about where he belonged in No. 212. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
