Thirty-one other rooms let Jeff Caldwell slide, and the Dolphins were the ones holding the card at pick 227. Highway robbery. The bottom line is a respectable B.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The World reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 11th pick they get a workhorse for the backfield at a price that makes it sweeter. A real need, handled.
In No. 30 they get a sideline-to-sideline linebacker, outstanding value to boot.
Max Iheanachor in the 47th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
Chase Bisontis at slot 75 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. It fills a real need, too.
No drama and no debate, Ted Hurst went about where he belonged in pick No. 90. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Devin Moore at pick 94 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A minor itch, scratched.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Keylan Rutledge. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
By-the-book stuff, Michael Trigg at Round 4, Pick 11 squarely in line with his ranking. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
The board had cheaper options than Isaiah World at the Round 4 slot, and it noticed. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A straight-up fair deal on Drew Allar at slot 151, value and slot in agreement. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Domani Jackson slipping to No. 189 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
A wide receiver of that caliber at the 227th pick is the definition of value, full stop. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A quiet steal in pick 238: John Michael Gyllenborg for less than the market said. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
