You could see the war room lean forward. Phil Jurkovec at pick 245 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.
A whole weekend of picks and cornerback is somehow still a want. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 32nd overall pick they get a weapon on the perimeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They took Kiran Amegadjie at par in slot 56, which is nothing to complain about. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A reasonable price with a little left over, T'Vondre Sweat in Round 2, Pick 32. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Value with a capital V on Payton Wilson in pick 87, a genuine coup. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Jahdae Barron at No. 124 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Theo Wease Jr.. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They paid sticker price for Isaiah Davis in pick No. 212, and that is fine. The roster fit checks out.
The board fumbled Phil Jurkovec all the way to the Round 7 slot, and they scooped it up. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
