Miami Dolphins

Good, not great, for the Dolphins: B.

by Fins1981 · 2026 NFL Draft · 23 picks · 6 steals · 9 reaches
Value C+
Need B
Trades C
Future A

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Dolphins reached some 125 spots for Eric Gentry, and value like that does not grow back.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Slaughter. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.18 · Pick 18 · Kenyon Sadiq · TE · rank 19
In slot 18 they get a seam-stretching tight end. A real need, handled.
R2.15 · Pick 47 · Caleb Banks · DL · rank 41
Caleb Banks at pick 47 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the interior defensive lineman. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R2.17 · Pick 49 · Emmanuel McNeil-Warren · S · rank 51
By-the-book stuff, Emmanuel McNeil-Warren at No. 49 squarely in line with his ranking. It adds depth where they could use a little.
R3.14 · Pick 78 · Keionte Scott · CB · rank 61
Keionte Scott slid further than he should have, and pick No. 78 is lovely value for the cornerback. A minor need, but a need all the same.
R3.23 · Pick 87 · Chase Bisontis · OG · rank 70
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Chase Bisontis at the 87th pick is the proof. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R3.26 · Pick 90 · Jacob Rodriguez · LB · rank 72
They barely believed it either: Jacob Rodriguez still on the board at Round 3, Pick 26. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R3.28 · Pick 92 · Jake Slaughter · C · rank 55
Steal is underselling it; Jake Slaughter at Round 3, Pick 28 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The roster fit checks out.
R3.30 · Pick 94 · Ted Hurst · WR · rank 89
A reasonable price with a little left over, Ted Hurst in the 94th pick. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R3.33 · Pick 97 · Michael Trigg · TE · rank 115
They reached into another round for Michael Trigg, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R4.12 · Pick 112 · Bryce Lance · WR · rank 90
Bryce Lance in the Round 4 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R4.16 · Pick 116 · Emmett Johnson · RB · rank 104
Value with a capital V on Emmett Johnson in slot 116, a genuine coup. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R4.30 · Pick 130 · Drew Allar · QB · rank 157
Drew Allar at pick 130 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R5.11 · Pick 151 · Dametrious Crownover · OT · rank 144
They did well to land Dametrious Crownover in No. 151, just ahead of his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
R5.12 · Pick 152 · Isaiah World · OT · rank 146
Isaiah World in pick No. 152 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It fills a real need, too.
R5.23 · Pick 163 · Demond Claiborne · RB · rank 162
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Demond Claiborne. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R5.40 · Pick 180 · Taylen Green · QB · rank 188
They liked Taylen Green enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 180. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R7.11 · Pick 227 · Eric Gentry · LB · rank 352
They left a pile of value on the table to take Eric Gentry this early at pick 227. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R7.13 · Pick 229 · Lander Barton · LB · rank 232
Lander Barton in No. 229 is fair value, right on his grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R7.22 · Pick 238 · J. Michael Sturdivant · WR · rank 276
A real head-scratcher, J. Michael Sturdivant in the 238th pick is miles ahead of his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R7.30 · Pick 246 · Adam Randall · RB · rank 275
A wild overpay on Adam Randall in Round 7, Pick 30, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R7.33 · Pick 249 · Noah Thomas · WR · rank 356
This one needs a full-page explanation: Noah Thomas in the Round 7 slot, miles early. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R7.40 · Pick 256 · Micah Morris · OG · rank 323
They talked themselves into Micah Morris at pick No. 256, and the board did not agree. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R7.41 · Pick 257 · Shamar Easter · TE · rank 298
Shamar Easter at the 257th pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
