The Dolphins put a flag in the ground for Isaiah World, 51 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
The Stowers pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
A premium they did not need to pay, Ted Hurst a notch or two before his time. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Markel Bell at Round 3, Pick 27 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Eli Stowers in No. 92 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Bryce Lance in the 94th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A reach for Tacario Davis in the 96th pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Isaiah World at pick No. 97 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Travis Burke in the Round 4 slot, miles early. A need, and now a little less of one.
Value said wait; Ephesians Prysock in No. 151 says they were not listening. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Jeff Caldwell at pick 165 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Taylen Green at the 168th overall pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Value with a capital V on Domani Jackson in slot 188, a genuine coup. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Jaren Kanak in pick No. 227 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Robert Spears-Jennings at the 238th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It adds depth where they could use a little.
