You build a draft on nights like this. Brandon Coleman had no business being available in Round 4, Pick 31, and the Chiefs did the only sane thing and turned in the card.
A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want. The Worthy reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 32 they get a matchup problem out wide, reach and all. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They paid sticker price for Jaden Hicks in pick 64, and that is fine. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They took Roger Rosengarten at par in Round 3, Pick 32, which is nothing to complain about. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Brandon Coleman in the Round 4 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Jordan Magee in the 159th pick is fair value, right on his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They paid a round early for Fabien Lovett in No. 173, more than the board wanted. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
