The Adam Randall pick is the one that will follow the Titans into the fall. They took him 51 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. It does the job without flash, and the B+ reflects it.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
On value alone, Gulbin makes the weekend a net positive.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 23rd overall pick they get the heartbeat of the defense at a price that makes it sweeter. A clean fit for the roster.
Chris Johnson at pick No. 35 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Jake Slaughter in the Round 3 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Value with a capital V on Ted Hurst in the 101st pick, a genuine coup. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A straight-up fair deal on Emmett Johnson at pick 103, value and slot in agreement. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They reached into another round for Nadame Tucker, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Beau Stephens in slot 144 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Keagen Trost in Round 6, Pick 3 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They read the board right and Matt Gulbin was the payoff at the Round 6 slot. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
