The trade table was a mismatch, and the Rams were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value.
They will need Crownover to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They will regret leaving running back for another day if the season turns on it. Landing Allen that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
CJ Allen slid further than he should have, and pick No. 47 is lovely value for the linebacker. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Nice patience on Keith Abney II, who had no business lasting to pick 53. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
They let A.J. Haulcy come to them and pounced at the 61st overall pick. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Zachariah Branch is a better player than Round 3, Pick 12 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.

Sam Hecht in the 99th pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They reached a country mile for Dametrious Crownover at slot 113, and the board is aghast. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
