The Chargers spent real capital to be 28 picks early on Jaylen Harrell, and the board is going to hold them to it.
For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. The veteran additions, Tariq Woolen chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a home-run threat at receiver. The biggest hole, addressed.
They paid sticker price for Jackson Powers-Johnson in Round 2, Pick 18, and that is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Ja'Tavion Sanders at No. 54 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.

Carson Steele in pick 256 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
