The rest of the league will want that one back. Dwight McGlothern tumbling to the Cowboys in Round 6, Pick 10 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
They will need Briggs to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 10 they get a No. 1 receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A straight-up fair deal on Dominick Puni at No. 87, value and slot in agreement. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Dillon Johnson in pick 174 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They robbed the room for Dwight McGlothern here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Nathaniel Watson at slot 216 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the linebacker. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Nathan Thomas in pick No. 233 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They reached into another round for Jowon Briggs, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
