The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Quinshon Judkins, pick 143, roughly 73 picks past where he belonged. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
The cost of the Trapilo reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.
Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 4 they get a sticky cover corner at fair value. Need was not the driver here.
A slide stopped in Round 2, Pick 6, with Kenneth Grant worth more than the price. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Value with a capital V on Harold Fannin Jr. in pick 69, a genuine coup. It fills a real need, too.
They paid a round early for Ozzy Trapilo in the 77th pick, more than the board wanted. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Good price on Savion Williams in pick No. 104, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Quinshon Judkins in the Round 5 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
The board fumbled Jackson Slater all the way to slot 196, and they scooped it up. The roster fit checks out.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at the 220th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
