New York Giants

The Giants turned the phones into found money: A-.

Nobody else had Nathaniel Watson anywhere near pick No. 141. The Giants did, by 71 spots, and that gap is the whole story. Little to argue with here, and the A- says so.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. The Cowing steal is the beam this whole class leans on.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through tight end. The veteran additions, Will Hernandez chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

Bottom line, with Brian Thomas Jr. leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.27 · Pick 27 · Brian Thomas Jr. · WR · rank 27
In No. 27 they get a home-run threat at receiver at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R3.3 · Pick 67 · Christian Mahogany · OG · rank 98
They reached a country mile for Christian Mahogany at the 67th overall pick, and the board is aghast. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R3.6 · Pick 70 · Darius Robinson · DL-EDGE · rank 39
A top-tier edge rusher at a bargain, Darius Robinson in the 70th pick, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R3.13 · Pick 77 · Michael Hall Jr. · DT · rank 82
A straight-up fair deal on Michael Hall Jr. at the Round 3 slot, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R3.14 · Pick 78 · Spencer Rattler · QB · rank 117
A real head-scratcher, Spencer Rattler in pick No. 78 is miles ahead of his ranking. It fills a real need, too.
R4.4 · Pick 104 · Cole Bishop · S · rank 104
They paid sticker price for Cole Bishop in slot 104, and that is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R4.7 · Pick 107 · MarShawn Lloyd · RB · rank 97
Quietly one of the better values of the day, MarShawn Lloyd at pick No. 107. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R4.27 · Pick 127 · Elijah Jones · CB · rank 115
Nice patience on Elijah Jones, who had no business lasting to No. 127. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R5.2 · Pick 138 · Isaac Guerendo · RB · rank 128
Isaac Guerendo at slot 138 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R5.5 · Pick 141 · Nathaniel Watson · LB · rank 212
They reached into another round for Nathaniel Watson, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
R5.16 · Pick 152 · Grayson Murphy · DL-EDGE · rank 176
A big swing on Grayson Murphy at the Round 5 slot, well ahead of any board in the building. A need, and now a little less of one.
R6.8 · Pick 183 · Jacob Cowing · WR · rank 147
They barely believed it either: Jacob Cowing still on the board at the 183rd overall pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R6.13 · Pick 188 · Edefuan Ulofoshio · LB · rank 236
Edefuan Ulofoshio at Round 6, Pick 13 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
R7.2 · Pick 222 · Marcellas Dial · CB · rank 243
Marcellas Dial in pick 222 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R7.27 · Pick 247 · C.J. Hanson · OG · rank 263
They liked C.J. Hanson enough to skip the value, taking him in the 247th overall pick. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
