Cincinnati Bengals

Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Bengals.

Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Caden Curry at pick No. 72 is 59 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

Golday at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. With quarterback unsolved, spending premium capital on edge rusher is the choice that costs them. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Sonny Styles · LB · rank 21
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a sideline-to-sideline linebacker. A real need, handled.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Emmanuel Pregnon · OG · rank 39
Emmanuel Pregnon in the 41st overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The roster fit checks out.
R3.8 · Pick 72 · Caden Curry · DE-EDGE · rank 131
Caden Curry in the Round 3 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
R3.25 · Pick 89 · Jake Golday · OLB · rank 59
A curious use of the 89th pick. Quarterback needed the pick; an edge rusher in Jake Golday did not.
R3.34 · Pick 98 · Daylen Everette · CB · rank 81
Daylen Everette at pick 98 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R4.10 · Pick 110 · Skyler Bell · WR · rank 88
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Skyler Bell in No. 110, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R4.16 · Pick 116 · Bishop Fitzgerald · S · rank 123
A straight-up fair deal on Bishop Fitzgerald at pick 116, value and slot in agreement. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
R4.28 · Pick 128 · Kaleb Proctor · DL · rank 135
They paid sticker price for Kaleb Proctor in Round 4, Pick 28, and that is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R4.29 · Pick 129 · Nicholas Singleton · RB · rank 108
They will replay Nicholas Singleton at slot 129 for years; that is how good the value is. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R5.12 · Pick 152 · Dametrious Crownover · OT · rank 144
Nice patience on Dametrious Crownover, who had no business lasting to the 152nd pick. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R6.8 · Pick 189 · Zane Durant · DT · rank 179
Value with a capital V on Zane Durant in the 189th overall pick, a genuine coup. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R6.18 · Pick 199 · Josh Cameron · WR · rank 187
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 199, where Josh Cameron graded well above the range. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R7.5 · Pick 221 · Dallen Bentley · TE · rank 199
They barely believed it either: Dallen Bentley still on the board at the Round 7 slot. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R7.10 · Pick 226 · Keyshaun Elliott · LB · rank 219
Keyshaun Elliott in No. 226 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
