They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Joe Milton III, 40 picks early at the 154th overall pick. Put together, it is a D-.
Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. Landing Odunze that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
Adding Danielle Hunter by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, edge rusher very much included.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 28 they get a matchup problem out wide, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.
They paid sticker price for T'Vondre Sweat in the 33rd overall pick, and that is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Taliese Fuaga slid further than he should have, and No. 34 is lovely value for the offensive lineman. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Kris Abrams-Draine in the 42nd pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
They jumped the gun on Cooper Beebe, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Nothing to complain about; TreVeyon Henderson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
No edge and no loss on Junior Colson in slot 117; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on James Williams. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
