You build a draft on nights like this. Kamari Ramsey had no business being available in Round 4, Pick 23, and the Commanders did the only sane thing and turned in the card. A weekend of give and take that grades a C.
The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. The tight end hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They are betting Stribling proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
If Arvell Reese and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 7th overall pick they get a three-down second-level presence. More want than need.
Connor Lew at the 86th pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Value said wait; De'Zhaun Stribling in the Round 3 slot says they were not listening. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A straight-up fair deal on Davison Igbinosun at pick 112, value and slot in agreement. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
DeMonte Capehart at pick No. 120 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A need, and now a little less of one.
Kamari Ramsey at No. 123 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
The board had cheaper options than Demond Claiborne at Round 5, Pick 8, and it noticed. It fills a real need, too.
Ephesians Prysock in slot 187 is fair value, right on his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Zavion Thomas at the 223rd pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
