Boards are made to be trusted, and the Commanders shredded theirs for Ephesians Prysock. He came off 44 spots early, and the room will hear about it. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. On value alone, Caldwell makes the weekend a net positive. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 7 they get a bell-cow for the offense at fair value. A real need, handled.
Zachariah Branch in pick 71 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A big swing on Ephesians Prysock at the Round 5 slot, well ahead of any board in the building. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They talked themselves into Jadon Canady at the 187th pick, and the board did not agree. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jeff Caldwell in pick No. 209. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A real head-scratcher, Bryce Foster in No. 223 is miles ahead of his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
