Washington Commanders

No fireworks, just a tidy B for the Commanders.

The Ephesians Prysock selection is the head-turner. The Commanders reached 41 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered.

The Caldwell pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.12 · Pick 12 · Carnell Tate · WR · rank 12
In Round 1, Pick 12 they get a matchup problem out wide. The biggest hole, addressed.
R3.7 · Pick 71 · Brian Parker II · OT · rank 105
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Brian Parker II. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R5.7 · Pick 147 · Ephesians Prysock · CB · rank 188
Value said wait; Ephesians Prysock in slot 147 says they were not listening. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R6.6 · Pick 187 · VJ Payne · S · rank 194
No edge and no loss on VJ Payne in the 187th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
R6.28 · Pick 209 · Jeff Caldwell · WR · rank 187
Jeff Caldwell at pick 209 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R7.7 · Pick 223 · Thaddeus Dixon · CB · rank 218
Thaddeus Dixon in pick No. 223 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
