The Commanders spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Deion Burks, the No. 86 name on the board, in slot 124. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
The Fuller pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
They took Mansoor Delane at par in slot 7, which is nothing to complain about. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A quiet steal in the Round 3 slot: Kamari Ramsey for less than the market said. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Value with a capital V on Bryce Lance in pick 100, a genuine coup. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A wide receiver of that caliber at the 124th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Zane Durant at Round 6, Pick 6 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A big swing on Andre Fuller at the 209th pick, well ahead of any board in the building. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
