Some picks age like wine; Brian Parker II at the Round 3 slot will need to, sitting 34 spots clear of his grade.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped tight end, which is a strange place to end up. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. The back end got a real overhaul.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 7 they get a rangy last line of defense. More want than need.
Brian Parker II in the 71st overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Malik Benson in the Round 5 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They took Ephesians Prysock at par in Round 6, Pick 6, which is nothing to complain about. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They liked Noah Whittington enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 209. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They did well to land Keyshaun Elliott in the 223rd pick, just ahead of his grade. It adds depth where they could use a little.
