Call it larceny. Davison Igbinosun sat on the board until Round 5, Pick 7, and the Commanders did not need to be asked twice. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 7 they get a problem off the edge. A real need, handled.
A linebacker of that caliber at Round 3, Pick 7 is the definition of value, full stop. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Davison Igbinosun at the 147th pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They robbed the room for Zxavian Harris here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A need, and now a little less of one.
Jeff Caldwell at the 209th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Good price on Noah Whittington in pick No. 223, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
