Thirty-one other rooms let Taylen Green slide, and the Commanders were the ones holding the card at the 223rd overall pick. Highway robbery.
Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want.
If Caleb Downs and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 7th overall pick they get a rangy last line of defense. Need was not the driver here.
The board had cheaper options than Connor Lew at the Round 3 slot, and it noticed. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
The board fumbled Keionte Scott all the way to No. 84, and they scooped it up. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Nicholas Singleton in pick No. 120 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Zxavian Harris in the 147th pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
By-the-book stuff, Jeff Caldwell at Round 6, Pick 6 squarely in line with his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Steal is underselling it; Ephesians Prysock at slot 209 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Taylen Green at pick 223 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A need, and now a little less of one.
