You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Commanders did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high. It lands right in the middle: a C+, no more, no less.

If one pick saves this weekend, it is Smith. The Lance reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.

They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
