The Commanders did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Germie Bernard fell into No. 147.
They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Reaching for Foster left real value on the table behind him.
Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a ballhawk on the back end. Need was not the driver here.
They robbed the room for Anthony Hill Jr. here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They will replay Germie Bernard at pick 147 for years; that is how good the value is. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A quiet steal in No. 187: Domani Jackson for less than the market said. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Cyrus Allen in Round 6, Pick 34 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Noah Whittington in slot 223 is fair value, right on his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
