The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Deontae Lawson, pick 190, roughly 102 picks past where he belonged. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

They will need Williams to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. A whole weekend of picks and cornerback is somehow still a want. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.13 · Pick 13 · Cameron Williams · OT · rank 30
In the 13th overall pick they get a long-term starter on the line, though they paid up to get him. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.12 · Pick 44 · Jack Sawyer · DE · rank 26
Jack Sawyer in pick No. 44 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
R3.14 · Pick 78 · Tyleik Williams · DT · rank 59
A top-tier interior defensive lineman at a bargain, Tyleik Williams in No. 78, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
R5.12 · Pick 150 · Barrett Carter · LB · rank 87
They will replay Barrett Carter at the Round 5 slot for years; that is how good the value is. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R5.31 · Pick 169 · DJ Campbell · OG · rank 215
This one needs a full-page explanation: DJ Campbell in Round 5, Pick 31, miles early. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R5.32 · Pick 170 · J.Michael Sturdivant · WR · rank 231
J.Michael Sturdivant in the 170th pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R5.33 · Pick 171 · Savion Williams · WR · rank 236
They left a pile of value on the table to take Savion Williams this early at pick 171. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R6.15 · Pick 190 · Deontae Lawson · LB · rank 88
Deontae Lawson at slot 190 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R6.34 · Pick 209 · Ollie Gordon II · RB · rank 170
Ollie Gordon II in slot 209 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
